Stanislaus Sheriff's Department is investigating a Murder that occurred on Sunday February 23rd, 2014. At approximately 5:15 PM Stanislaus County Sheriffs Deputies responded to the Volley Ball courts in the 300 block of Olivero Rd in Modesto for a report of gun shots. Upon arrival Deputies found Oscar Nunez, age 36 of Delhi, in a small field between residences. Nunez had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. During the investigations witnesses stated they had heard several gun shots approximately 45 minutes to an hour before Deputies were called. Even though Nunez is from Delhi he is frequently seen in the area of the shooting.
