(Shown Victim Jaime Garcia) Sheriffs Detectives are asking the public's help in locating suspects of a drive-by shooting that killed 31-year-old JAIME GARCIA of Modesto. At 8:10 PM March 22, 2007, GARCIA was walking on Rutherford Street and Inyo Ave when a white 4-door vehicle approached him on Rutherford Street. As the vehicle approached GARCIA, someone from inside the vehicle fired several shots hitting GARCIA. The vehicle then drove away westbound Inyo Ave. GARCIA was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. GARCIA was the father of six children and was walking to the store to buy diapers when the shooting occurred. Detectives say that the shooting is possibly gang related.

On June 8, 2005 the victim PAUL BARAZZA (pictured left) was walking with a friend in the 800 blk of Sonora Ave (S. Modesto) when a vehicle with a loud muffler approached them. An argument took place between the people in the vehicle and the two walking. Someone in the vehicle then shot at the two people on the street, hitting the victim and killing him. Suspect Description: Only description is a vehicle with a loud muffler.

On July 1, 1993 at about 2:00am the victim Thomas Kealanui Leimbach (pictured) was found shot to death at Stoddard and Technology Dr. in Modesto, CA. The area where the victim was located was a new business park which was being developed. Leimbach was last seen around midnight, July 1, 1993 when he left his best friends residence. He was suppose to go to a store and return. An additional reward is offered by the Governor's Office for $50,000.00 leading to the arrest & conviction of those persons responsible.

Stanislaus Sheriff's Department is asking assistance for information on a fight that occurred on 12/15 or 12/16/2010 in the 600 blk River Road between two subjects. Victim Roy Michael McLain was involved and was injured, and subsequently died from his injuries. The family and Sheriff's Detectives need any information from anyone who may have seen this fight. At 1:50PM on March 25th Stanislaus County Sheriffs Department went to the 2500 block of Paradise Rd, Modesto for a person who had been shot. Gregory Bettencourt, 51 (shown in photo) of Modesto, was shot inside his residence. Bettencourt was pronounced dead at the scene. During the investigation Detectives located video surveillance showing a vehicle pulling into a nearby market at approximately 10:58 AM. The vehicle is similar to a light colored 86 Toyota Celica with a dark colored hood. Two male subjects, wearing dark hooded sweatshirts, get out of the car and walk toward the victim's residence. The driver remained in the vehicle. A short time later the vehicle leaves without the two subjects. Detectives located a legal marijuana grow at the residence and are unsure at this time if it is related to the shooting. No arrests have been made at this time. Detectives are requesting assistance identifying the vehicle and subjects in the video for questioning.

Unsolved Homicide - Michael Strong

On Saturday, February 13, 2010, at about 1:30am, Michael Bryan Strong, 40 years old, was found shot to death behind the Hope Chest Thrift Store at 1241 McHenry Ave. As of this date, a suspect in the case has not been identified.

Unsolved Homicide - Michael Silveira

On 05/03/10 the Modesto Police Department responded to 304 Cloverdale Ave. and found the homeowner, Michael John Silveira Sr., deceased inside the residence. Silveira was the victim of a homicide and as of today the suspect(s) have not been identified.

Fatal Hit and Run

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the Hit/Run Death of Amy Lynn Freeseha (shown in photo). On July 22, 2010 Amy was jogging with her niece in the area of Langworth & Claribel Rds in Riverbank. While jogging on the west shoulder of the road the victim was struck by the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle was described as an older mid to late nineties White Chevy Suburban or possibly truck. The suspect and vehicle fled the scene. Stanislaus Sheriff is investigating a Murder that occurred on Dec. 12, 2010. On Dec. 12, 2010 the victim, ANDRES GARCIA (victim shown in photo) was shot in the area of Hwy 99 and Hatch Rds. Stanislaus Sheriff's Dept is investigating the Murder of Yosimar MOSQUEDA 21 years. On March 4, 2012 MOSQUEDA was found deceased in the California Aqueduct near Westley CA. Sheriff's official need any information on the Murder of Mr. Mosqueda and ask that you call if you know anything. (dh/cdc)
