Stanislaus Sheriff's Department is investigating a Murder that occurred on Sunday February 23rd, 2014. At approximately 5:15 PM Stanislaus County Sheriffs Deputies responded to the Volley Ball courts in the 300 block of Olivero Rd in Modesto for a report of gun shots. Upon arrival Deputies found Oscar Nunez, age 36 of Delhi, in a small field between residences. Nunez had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. During the investigations witnesses stated they had heard several gun shots approximately 45 minutes to an hour before Deputies were called. Even though Nunez is from Delhi he is frequently seen in the area of the shooting. Stanislaus County Sheriff's DepartmentStanislaus County Sheriffs Department Detectives are asking for assistance in the investigation of the death of Manuel DaSilva, 54 of Livingston. On Tuesday May 6th, 2014, DaSilva had been working on a tractor plowing fields on S. Walnut Rd near W. Greenway Ave in Turlock. When DaSilva did not return home and family members had not heard from him, they became concerned. Family members drove to S. Walnut Rd to check on him and located DaSilva deceased. Detectives from the Stanislaus County Sheriffs Department are listing the investigation as a homicide. Detectives are asking anyone with possible information or who may have seen anything suspicious in the area of S. Walnut Rd near W. Greenway Ave, between the hours of 2:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M., to contact them. Modesto Police DepartmentModesto Police are looking for information on a Murder that occurred on Monday, 07-29-13 at approximately 6:03pm. A shooting occurred in front of 2805 Campbell Lane in Modesto. During the shooting the victim, Frankie VARGAS, pulled up outside a residence in the 2800 blk of Campbell Ln in his black 2006 Dodge Charger and was subsequently shot while inside of his vehicle. Stanislaus Sheriff is asking for assistance in an attempted homicide that occfurred on 12-02-2013. A shoting took place at the Riverbank hotel, located at 6609 3rd Street, Riverbank. The Victim was at the hotel when he was confronted by the shooter and a White female adult and an argument ensued. This contact led to the Victim being shot in the parking lot of the Riverbank hotel. The Victim sustained a gunshot wound to his face and has since been hospitalized for treatment. The shooting suspect fled the scene and was not contacted. Through investigation the shooting suspect has been identified as George Arturo Saldivar. Saldivar is described as a Hispanic male adult, 37 years old, 508 tall, 225 pounds, Black hair, Brown eyes, bald head, and clean shaven. As of 12-05-2013 an arrest warrant was issued for Saldivar on suspicion of 664/187 PC, attempted homicide. The female that was with Saldivar during the shooting has been identified as Leah Cadiz. She is a person of interest in this case and wanted for questioning at this time. Cadiz is described as a White Female adult, 37 years old, 507 tall, 175 pounds, Shoulder length Red hair and Green eyes. Saldivar and Cadiz have since been seen in the Riverbank area. Both parties have ties to the Riverbank and Modesto areas. They are believed to be on the run and Saldivar is considered armed and dangerous.The investigation is ongoing and any citizens with information regarding the incident are encouraged to contact Detective Josh Sandoval at 209-863-7158. |

ADDITIONAL $2000.00 REWARD IS BEING OFFERED CONTACT CRIME STOPPERS FOR MORE INFORMATIONTurlock Police continue to investigate a Homicide that occurred on 01-31-09, at about 8:57pm. Kelly Story (pictured) was struck by a vehicle in the 600 block of Julian Street. Kelly Story later died from his injuries. Witnesses said the vehicle was occupied by two males. The suspect vehicle was described as a dark blue or dark green sedan similar to a Dodge or Plymouth Neon. The suspect vehicle will have front end damage resulting from the collision.This vehicle was observed driving at a high rate of speed in the immediate area at the time of the incident. The occupants of the vehicle may have information critical to this investigation." |

FATAL HIT AND RUNStanislaus Sheriff's Department is asking for your assistance in the death investigation of Blake Barry (shown here). Blake was the victim of a fatal hit and run that occurred December 29, 2013 at 12600 Dorsey in Waterford. Deputies were dispatched to a fight in Waterford at approximately 1:30 am. When deputies arrived they found multiple subjects running from the area. Deputies were guided to a victim, later identified as Blake Barry, 20 years old of Oakdale, who was unresponsive and laying in the street. Witnesses stated the Blake had been struck by a vehicle that had fled the area prior to deputies arriving. Barry was transported to Oak Valley Hospital and pronounced deceased. The California Highway Patrol has requested help on a fatal hit and run accident . The collision occurred on 05-31-2014, on State Route 99. Based upon the evidence at the scene, the vehicle involved is a 2006 to 2011 gray Nissan Pathfinder. They are trying to inquire if any repair/auto body shops have performed any recent repairs matching this vehicle. The vehicle sustained damage to the right front headlamp, right front bumper, and is missing the wheel well liner for the right front tire. Modesto police are looking for a man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a teen girl early Friday morning. The girl, who is of high school age, was jogging west on Morris Avenue, just west of McHenry Avenue, when she was approached by a man with a handgun, said Modesto Police Department spokeswoman Heather Graves. He pointed the gun at her and forced her into a vehicle parked nearby, then drove several minutes until he pulled over in front of a vacant home in a residential neighborhood, Graves said. The man, a stranger to the victim, sexually assaulted her before dropping her off near Enslen Park, according to authorities. The victim walked home from there and called police. She was taken to a hospital and treated for her injuries. The suspect is described as Latino, possibly in his 20s, about 6 feet tall, 140 pounds, with hazel eyes and a 4- to 5-inch black tattoo on his upper left arm.
